I can remember 2 times when Hawkeye saluted someone.  The most memorable
was the episode when Radar left the show.  Everyone was saying goodbye
as a swarm of casualties came in.  Hawk wasn`t able to say goodbye
during the confusion, and just before Radar left, he looked into the O.R.
He looked at Hawkeye & after a second, Capt. Pierce gave Radar a salute.

The second instance is probably more obscure and if they hadn`t just
shown it here in Chic. I would not have recalled it.  As a practical
joke, the walls to the officer`s latrine fell down while Frank was
sitting on the can.  Hawkeye gave him one of those devilish grins
of his and saluted.
