The name of the character with the mustache during first season
was 'Ugly John'. He played off and on during that season. By the way,
he also played a different character later on in the series. In the
episode where Father Mulcahey finally gets promoted, he plays an MP
who tries to close down Rosie's bar because Rosie wasn't there to
give him his free drinks (which was a bribe), and Winchester refused
to let him get off without paying. Actually, I rather liked the
character of Ugly John; I was sorry to see him go the way of Nurse
Dish and Spearchucker (who I was also sorry to see depart).

Does anyone remember what is different about the opening of the
first episode of MASH?
