As to Dr. Demento, I was a fan of his for a long time, if I was not home on Sunday nights, I would have the tape recorder on to catch as much as possible of the show. I especially liked the Monty Python cuts that he played. I met the man once, about 6 years ago in Atlanta when he was in town for a promotion. He was as demented as he sounded on the radio. >From this meeting, I got an AUTOGRAPHED copy of "Dr. Demento's Delights" which includes such wonderful songs ( on the G side ) as "They're Comming to Take Me Away" and ( my favorite ) "The Cockroach that Ate Cincinnatti". On the flip ( PG ) side, you get songs like "Big Ten Inch" and "Who Put the Benzadrine in Mrs. Murphy's Ovaltine". I haven't heard a thing about the man or show since I came up north to school 4 years ago. Just before that, the local outlet changed from WQXI ( 94 ) [ a very popular station ] to WZGC ( 93 ) [ a not quite so popular station ] so it may have been from lack of interest that the show was canceled in Atlanta. For a while, they had the 96-Rock Comedy hour, but alas, this too bit the dust. It's getting late and I have to do school work ( in FORTRAN no less ) so goodbye for now. ( it is back in the room right now and it's too cold to go and get it ). Stay Demented........
