This is not necessary on many terminals, including the Ann Arbor Ambassador. A small program makes it very simple to dump the screen into a file. I have such a program for the Ambassador - it is written in C and runs on UNIX. I don't know how difficult it would be to make it run on ITS or whatever. Contact me if you want a copy of the program.
