Goodfellow Remailed-To: Info-VAX@SRI-CSL: ; The 782 takes it memory in shared boxes (MA780's). The MA780 can have up to 4 meg - with 2 meg per controller. When DEC first released the 782 they advised 1/4 meg in each processor - to be used only for diagnostics. They have since upped this to 1/2 meg per processor, as they claim you need it to build floppies, etc. Keeping more memory in the processors might be ok for storage. A warning - if anyone out there is putting up a 782 - beware - the DEC release of BOOTBUILDER (to build your boot floppies) has a very nasty bug that will not let you not see the top 2 meg. It may be fixed by now. We had a lot of trouble with this. ..Rich Cower -------
