Has someone compiled a list of public domain VAX software for both
UNIX and VMS?  This list should cover the software developed for VLSI,
AI, vision and robotics, compiler development, debugging tools, text
editors/word processors, etc.

If such a list is not available, perhaps we should compile one.  By
splitting the list into application areas, we can share in maintaining
the specific lists on a volunteer basis.  The information that is in
the lists should include name of software, a description of what it
does, who wrote it, who maintains it, for which operating system, who
to contact to get it and its costs (if any).
