This is, of course, on a load permitting basis. A call to Base Operations will let you know for sure, though I've never had a problem. Normal entry to the approach is from over SAC VOR, for the GCA 21L approach. Travis approach (119.9) handles the initial vectors, though SAC approach, or Bay approach often will forward your request and check whether the approach is available. I strongly recommend trying a GCA to anyone who has not yet done it. It seems especially valuable to instrument students in the latter part of their training. Though, "Cessna 92H, 7 miles from touchdown, verify gear down and locked", in a 172 does create a moment of confusion with the student. ---Bart Miller U.C. Berkeley
