	I am interested in the purchase of a video cassette recorder
as a Christmas gift.  I would like to know:

	1)	Is there a clear preference between VHS and Beta?

	2)	Any recommendations of particular brands/models
		or ones to avoid?

	3)	Suggestions of reliable and cheap dealers in the
		NJ/NYC metro area?
