I have been carying 2m handhelds on about 5 domestic flights and never had
problems - I always stated that 'I would not use them because
it is not legal'.

Once I got into trouble - in West Germany. There security people told me
that I would not be allowed to take it on board - I could
threaten to explode a bomb in my suitcase with it.........
