Also, many of them appeal to what might be called special interests, e.g. the world will collapse soon so buy lots of gold. The best respected investment letter is Value Line published by Arnold Bernhard and Co. which follows many, many, stocks and has a good track record. They make no claims to genius insight, just diligent application of straightforward principles. Trial subscriptions are pretty cheap.
