Title: In search of early Joe Ely

   Being an avid fan of The Clash, the first time I heard
of Joe Ely was a reference made by Joe Strummer in an
interview.  Since then I have read other articles which
depict Ely and his band as being one of the U.S.'s most 
underrated groups of the past 10 years, never being fully
appreciated in their time.
   Has anyone heard of any early Joe Ely, i.e. prior to
"Musta Notta Gotta Lotta"?  If so, what are the early album
titles and is the early stuff worth searching the bins for?
