   Your definitions don't match either my recollection or those of Webster's
Collegiate Dictionary, which (compressed) go as follows:

CELIBATE: (1) Not married; (2) abstaining from intercourse

CHASTE: (1) Refraining from unlawful* intercourse

Note that if there are any married people "listening in", that their being
(or not being) chaste has nothing to do with what they do with their spouses!

*Let's not get into an argument over "unlawful"; regardless of local ordinances
about positions, you'll probably find even in the OED that it's a question of
whether \any/ intercourse between X and Y is sanctioned.
