I have dated men both younger and older than myself and have to say
that age only plays a major role if there is also a maturity difference.

It is more acceptable, in society, for the man to "take care of" the
woman, than vice-versa. I think that this traditionally leads to having
the man be the older "provider" in the relationship. For me, I don't want
to take care of anyone or be taken care of, so I like men who have about
the same maturity level that I have. Although age does paly a role
in the maturity of an individual, I don't believe that it is the only, or
even the primary factor involved.

I do have to admit that in some ways, you are going against what society
expects if you are a woman dating a younger man. People tend to consider
that unnatural and hence are not too readily accepting of the relationship.
