I went somewhat earlier in the summer leaving from Provincetown.  The trip was
4 or 5 hours, a little less than 1 hour each way and around 3 hours near the
whales.  We got very close to them  ( less than the length of the boat, at
times less than 5 meters )  We saw 3 humpbacks together and possibly spouts
of a couple of other whales.  I am told that one group of 3 whales is somewhat
below average.
