Goodfellow Remailed-To: Info-VAX@SRI-CSL.ARPA: ; Would there be any problem in assembling a list(through INFO-VAX) of known public domain software for Vaxen running Unix or VMS. Does such a list already exist? If it doesn't, and there are no complaints or hidden legal problems, I would be glad to assemble a list and make it ARPA FTPable for those interested in it. The list could encompass products of any complexity from things like TEX to small utilities that at most only incur a small tape handling charge. Those who know of a product could send me a small description of the product (usage, authors, who to ask for more info, who to contact for ordering, etc), then I could list and cross reference these in a file and leave it for public access. (At this point, I think it would be best to keep UNIX and VMS software in separate lists, cross referenced where applicable.) I think such a catalogue would be very helpful for those who are bringing up a "gaunt" VMS system and would like to add some colour to their wolrd. If there is any problem with this, send mail to me and CC: to the list so people don't start sending. I think its safe to say that if no arguments appear in the next week or so, that all interested in contributing to the list can send me whatever info they have. Dave Goodine
