Through a fortuitious circumstance ( I won a raffle ), I
have a car pass to watch the Challenger take off on April 4 
( knock on wood ).  This is the first shuttle launch
I've seen in person, and I could really use some advice.

I was thinking about flying down the night before, and
renting a car when I get there.  Can I plan on finding
a motel room, or will I have to spend the night in the car?

How early should I get to KSC ( the launch is scheduled for 1:30pm )?

What should I take with me?

Any and all advice will be appreciated.
