His personality has changed a *lot* as a result of his time in High Society (the basic greed didn't change, but he now sees there are better ways to get rich than to rip off a temple at swordpoint). Remember his response to her asking "And would you still kill a yak for my supper, or would that also be bad for business?" Although note the attention paid to him unwrapping his sword at the end of 36. He didn't really do much with the sword after, however... I gots NO idea where things are going. I suspect that High Society has had their fun, and now that they see that he's not just their puppet and that he's making Iest even more bankrupt with no payoff I suspect his days are numbered.
