Here's a piece of news for you Dean Friedman fans (and of course,
his good friend Larry Kaufman).

It appeared in this week's Aquarian (local music newspaper).

Dean is starting a record company that will be co-operatively owned
and operated by its customers.  This type of Record Co-op is the
first of its kind, but the distribution system is patterned after
Tupperware's.  Distributors will hold monthly listening parties to
preview the new releases, with members getting a discount and also
dividends based on the number of records they have bought.

It didn't say whether the records are guaranteed forever or if
the music on them will stay fresh longer than other record brands.
