   I just got my hands on the April 1983 issue of LOCUS.  There are lots of
tid-bits but here is one that caught my eye immediately.
	ANNE McCAFFERY has turned in DRAGONLADY, her seventh "Pern" book,
	to Del Rey...
I don't know if there are any other Pern fans out there, but I am waiting with
baited breath.
   Having read the series, I want to leave you with one strange thought that
keeps hitting me whenever I read on.  All the books seem to fit into
Ursula K LeGuin's Hainish series.  I know there are no referrants that
exactly coincide, but there are no contradictions either.  And I personally
feel that the tone, time scale, etc. are the same, and the books could
easily be merged into the same universe.
