Their prohibition is supposedly based on the belief that the only valid, permissible purpose to sex is the creation of children. If this is so, then why do they not prohibit even the rhythm method, as its purpose is the same as any other form of birth control? Perhaps it's because people relying on the rhythm method have always been known as 'parents'; in other words, it's OK to use any form of birth control so long as it fails. Next thing we know, we'll find "Catholic Church Approved" condoms with a prescribed number of holes. Phil
