I'm not sure, looking back, what defines the "usually"; it seems to have to do with how well we are communicating on non-physical levels at the time. I have severely exasperated several women by refusing to make love while unprotected; once the delay of several hours resulted in our getting "caught" by her irate father...but I just couldn't see letting a horny 16-year-old with little experience learn about birth control the hard way. (She didn't get to keep the spermicides I'd bought; her daddy's attitude probably resulted in her ending up getting a lot of early experience 'au natural' -- I hope she survived.) 'Minds me of a good topic for new discussions: Why are most fathers so over-protective of their daughters (versus their sons)? I recently had a romantic relationship with a young woman whose father displayed none of the usual feelings, surprising and pleasing me (and her). Howcome everybody's not like that?
