Another interesting ferry is that from Portland to the eastern end
of Newfounland. We did the trip in 1974, driving across Nfld. (there's
only one road) and taking the ferry back. It's 18 hours, and goes
through international waters, during which they open up the casino!
Much better than driving back across Newfoundland.
