I seem to have heard of a cross-assembler that ran under Unix once upon a time, but I don't remember if it assembled 6809 code or not. The reason he would prefer it were written in C is because they are about to purchase a development system that will run Unix, but they are not sure what the development system's processor will be; it may be a 68000, or an 11, or a z8000. They could presumably coerce a cross-assembler written in C to run on whatever they come up with. Thanks, replies to PGS@MC.
