     Is anyone familiar with research in the following area?  I'd
     welcome references and/or informed correspondance.


     A problem I've been "working" on lately has been the representation
     of designs using semantic nets or frames.  The representation is to
     be applicable to as many levels of design as possible, from initial
     natural language specification to physical layout.  The application 
     area is hardware/circuit design.   I'd like information on 
     existing representation languages and existing (or almost existing)
     design systems.  

     I'm especially interested in very current research which may not 
     have been published in the more accessible journals or proceedings.
