We've got an 11/780, running 4.1bsd. One of the sectors which is smack-dab in the middle of the ilist in our /usr filesystem recently went out. We would prefer not to have to reformat the disk to mark the newly-bad sector if at all possible; this drive is the one containing our root filesystem, and we don't want to have to rely on the more-or-less nonexistent standalone TU78 driver in order to bring the system back after reformatting the disk. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. - Warren Carithers, Rochester Institute of Technology ...!ucbvax!allegra!rochester!ritcv!wrc
