  The reason why the digital disks are 12 cm is that Philips and Sony
were negotiating to set the standard and, while Philips wanted 7" disks,
Sony wanted 4.xx" since a lot of their sales were aimed at the car
market.  No reason why you can't slip a CD player into where your
(uugghhhh!!) 8-track player used to be (wash my mouth out!).
