"The Fire When It Comes" was a Hugo nominee last year, but lost out
to (I think) Varley's "The Pusher." I think the Godwin story was
better, and that Varley is somewhat overrated. My husband has heard
that the novel done with Marvin Kaye is fairly good. We bought a copy
of it a few weeks ago, but neither of us has read it yet.
