the bell sys tech journal of july 78 which discusses unix (everyone should
know about that already) has an article on the C language. I believe it
mention that compilers exist for the data general eclipse.
  if it was not that journal, then I saw it in a revised version of it
in a magazine called The Engineer (I think) published by Western Electric.
Therefore I am 99% sure that said compiler exists somewhere within Bell
Labs. One might try the AT&T licensing folks.
