The oxymorons have been collected into a canonical list, with the really obscure ones weeded out. The list contains 109 oxymorons. I will mail this list to anyone who requests it, or post it if I get too many requests. Anyway, many of the submissions were not oxymorons, but REDUNDANT PHRASES. Here are some examples of redundancies: bunny rabbit color crayons duplicate copies fraternity men free gift GPIB bus inclement bad weather kitty cat LCD display past history puppy dog RAM memory (or ROM memory) religious dogma software programs sorority girls straight line true facts unobstucted view You can see that many of them have the same "flavor" as oxymorons do. Others are simply common perversions of acronyms. If you have a favorite redundant phrase, please post, or mail to me. (The phrase should not only be redundant, but should be fairly commonly used as well, else what's the point?) Dan Everhart John Fluke Mfg. Co. Inc. {microsoft,uw-beaver,allegra,lbl-csam,sb1}!fluke!dan
