One upon a time, a family of beavers wanted a ond of their own, so they would
catch smaller animals, cuff them into unconsciousness, and toss their limp
bodies into the stream, thus damming with faint preys.

A story of ancient Greece concerns a Spartan boy, from a family of notorious
undelievers.  Several G-ds, ridiculous!  Well one day he stole the sacred
fox that was going to be offered to Zeus.  He hid the wild animal under his
cloak, next to his skin.  Arriving home, he removed the fox from his hiding
place, and was amazed that he had not one mark from the fox either biting
or clawing.  "Down with superstition!"  He exulted, "There are no foxholes
in athesists!"

An impressionable New England college girl dropped out of school to live with
a handsome young man whose main attraction was his smoldering dark gaze.
Within six months she was abandoned and heartbroken -- a situation which, in
retrospect, came from loving not Wellesley, but two eyes.
