The May 2 issue of Newsweek has an article, "New Hope for Bad Backs,"
in the recent approval of Chymopapain treatments by the US FDA.
They describe the success rate of both
conventional surgery and this treatment at "improvment in
75 percent of cases," but the new treatment appears to be less
costly and less invasive than surgery.
