I have heard, and who am I to prejudge the veracity of unfounded
rumors, that "Killing me softly" is bout Don McLean's song,
"The day the music died", which, I am lead to believe is about the
plane crash  which killed Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper.

I guess, but do not know that "You so vain" is either about me
or James Taylor.
