I think that DDT is an exceedingly poor example to illustrate the above point.
The developed nations have a moral obligation not to compound past mistakes by
exporting dangerous technologies to developing nations.  DDT and the other
chlorinated hydrocarbons should not be produced or used anywhere in the world;
they do far more harm to man and other vertebrates than they do to insects.

Remember that we are all in this together.  The pollution problems of
developing nations are our problems as well.
