Unfortunately, Reagan is exercising his powers. Each time he certifies
that human rights have improved in El Salvador, and sends more bullets,
more reds (that is, illiterate, starving peasants who wonder why their
life is so rotten) die.

Reagan is exercising his powers, sending millions to train mercenaries
to overthrow the recognized government of Nicaragua, which, by the way,
is not a dictatorship, has not massacred its own people, nor
nationalized U.S. company assets.

Reagan is exercising his powers, refusing aid to Costa Rica unless they
build an army suitable for American purposes.

Reagan is exercising his powers, discreetly sending helicopter parts to
Guatemala, where hundreds of thousands of people died since the
democracy was terminated by our own CIA in 1954.

Reagan is exercising his powers, training mercenaries to overthrow
Grenada, because they will out-compete our tourist colonies with a
brand new international airport.

Reagan is exercising his powers, pouring it into the Honduran Army so
they will be as useful as Somoza's National Guard.

Talk about Socialists firing the first shot, eh? Allende didn't. Arbenz
didn't.  Castro didn't. Peron didn't. (Do you even know who they are?)
Each time a popular movement rises to power (through elections or
revolution) in Latin America, it is first Snubbed, then Embargoed, then
Attacked, and usually falls to a punk who tries real hard to physically
erase the national memory with the help of U.S. aid.

Arlen, you should learn the real definition of a communist. The domino
theory is correct, but it is not international communism which spreads,
but the end of colonialization.

You should learn the real reason why the U.S. is constantly
battling "international communism" throughout Central America, and feel
the struggle within yourself. You might then not issue such ridiculus
junk. Tom Craver, at least, has class!
