You certainly expressed your hostility clearly.  Frankly, I don't think of
the USSR as an opponent, but rather as a back up system.  I'm quite happy
to see them in space, because if the US space effort should expire of
internal causes (as the planetary science program has been close to doing),
I'm glad to see the USSR still running its program.  Politics is a
transitory thing.  In 500 years, I expect that more people will remember
Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong than will remember the ideologies of their
