Tradition (at least) has it that Jesus left no writings, probably because
He didn't believe in the practice of the Pharisaic party (sect, subgroup)
which was very much enamored of writing volume on volume of commentary on
small parts of the Law.  (My recent research uncovered for me that the
current Rabbinical Judaism is a direct outgrowth of this Pharisaic Judaism)

The assertion by certain German "demythologisers" was that He left no writings
because He wzs illiterate, a clearly ridiculous proposal.  Jesus of Nazareth
had a Temple education and was reported to have read from the Scriptures in
the synagogue.
