I see nothing wrong with it. I get uptight when I try asking girls out, so I`m sure it works both ways. Don`t come on real strong, like "Let`s go for a ride to the country, hop in the back seat and make love" or "Hey, big guy. Want some fun" That`s turn-off city in my view. Be casual. Strike up a conversation about anything not heavy, like school (if applicable), work, the weather, etc. Then just mention something you`d like to do, and make it simple, like lunch, go bowling, mini-golf, local carnival, bike riding maybe, maybe a talk some teacher or fellow worker may be giving. A concert might be a little heavy, but then again I`ve taken a couple girls on the first date to a concert, so its probably o.k. If you get past square one (which I haven`t much lately), BE YOURSELF! Don`t be what you`re not. Then, during a conversation you could make some nice compliment. Don`t go overboard, little things could go a long way. Breaking that ice is tough, I know, but if you just push yourself, you can do it. Now I know some people out there from work who may be reading this & also know me will say, "Hey, Tom! Since when did you become an expert on asking people out?" Hey, I`m far from it. But I do know this. I had the pleasure of a very nice girl asking me out about a year or so ago. One of her friends was getting married and she asked me if I`d like to go. Well, as luck would hacve it my best friend was graduating that same day and was one of the commencement speakers, and I`d already made plans that I just couldn`t get out of. Anyway, it gave me such an emotional boost that I`d never had before. After getting massively dumped on a month or so before, it gave me a new start on life. So if you know some nice guy out there and would like to get to know him, go ahead and take the first step. I agained a very nice friend, maybe you could do even better. Tom O`Connor ihuxw!tommyo
