	I don't agree that if you teach kids sex-ed too early
they will ignore it.  It's possible that they will 'shelve'
the information for awhile until they can deal with it, but
at least the correct and reasonable info is there when it's
needed.
	My mother (a 'shrink') read a children's book called
"Peter and Caroline" with me when I was four.  It was designed
for young children and contained anatomically-correct drawings
and simple but complete information on the biological processes
of how and when.  It even had a little chapter on "why," as
little Peter asked his mother when all this stuff took place.
She told him "when two people are in love," to which his reply
was "but I love Caroline (his twin)."  Mother then explained
the marriage context, but my overwhelming impression was that
love, not marriage, was the prerequisite.  Not bad for 1960!
	Of course, I did not digest all of this information
immediately, but, as the years passed and rumors abounded, I
always remembered the truth and had very few illusions of
cabbage patches and storks.  It also led naturally to dis-
cussions of birth control methods' plusses and cons (the fact
that I have three older sisters probably played a large part
there).
	Anyway, with all the very good books for children that
have been published recently and all the concerned teachers
and parents, I see no reason for enforced ignoranced through
the school systems.  These things can be incorporated a little
at a time ALL THE WAY THROUGH a child's education, and thus be
a lot less painful than that one (whisper whisper giggle giggle)
'health' class that is usually presented in ninth grade.  By that
time, the ones who know it are bored because the material is too
basic, and the ones who don't are too embarrassed to ask questions.
Educate the masses and maybe one day the masses will be made up
of only people who were wanted and planned.
