To quote a female acquaintance of mine:

This is probably as much a comment on her personal definition of
"exciting" as anything else, I guess, but I've felt burned when
encountering this attitude/behavior in the past.  You can plot
ways to become more "exciting" if you like (I'd suggest you begin
by practicing ways to think a lot less), but my suggestion is to
shrug, wheel out the old sense of humor, and watch -- there's a good
chance you've stumbled on someone who makes soaps look dull!  Personally,
I'm content (well, occasionally grateful) to be waiting for someone
who's waiting for someone like me.
