I too, feel the same sentiments as Lady Arwen about virginity.  Yes,
there are even guys out here in this day and age who believe in
virginity before marriage.  I am also lucky that I have a close women
friend who respects my desires.  My feelings don't really extend from
the medieval, rather, I became very confused and unhappy about the
current ideas of sexuality in this country, and originally decided to
forego intercourse to give myself a chance to think about it.  After
thinking about it, I decided to remain a virgin until I meet someone
special enough to marry them.  I am sure this decision hasn't hurt my
social life, and people are generally supportive.

I think virginity is one thing that isn't talked about much with regards
to interpersonal relationships, and I would like to see more discussion
on the subject.  I believe that the subject is very relevant to this
newsgroup.

Actually, the title of this should be 'chastity' but I just went ahead
and hit "f"...

For what it's worth, here's how I feel.

Sex is something incredibly beautiful and wonderful and something that I
would only wish to share with someone I really want to spend the rest of
my life with.  I hope it won't damage my credibility to say that I am a
virgin.  This is by choice.  It is not prudishness, nor religion, that
made me make that choice; just a highly personal wish to save that
something that is most special of all to share with the most special
person.  I don't apply these opinions to other people, anyway, but that
is merely what *I* have chosen!  Maybe it's just the medieval in me.
Still, I am very nitpicky about the definition of 'intercourse' and I
suppose that to some people, I'm <not> a virgin; so really, in other
people's eyes it matters not at all...
