The order of rank, from highest to lowest is:

Admiral (four solid stripes)
Commodore (three solid stripes)
Captain (two solid and one dotted stripe)
Commander (two solid stripes)
Lt. Commander (one solid and one dotted stripe)
Lieutenant (one solid stripe)
Ensign/Yeoman (no stripes)
