Most of the S libraries (psl, macro, lang) have been recompiled as well
as the executive itself.  This was done out of general paranoia, and
to ensure that our binaries are up to date with the source, before I
start making further changes.

I took the opportunity to add some more informative diagnostics (as far
as I know, the conditions that would generate these diagnostics have
never occurred on this system).
