I've read a book by Scott Fahlmann about a system called NETL for 
representing knowledge in terms of a particular tree-like structure.  
I found it a fascinating idea.  It was published in 1979.  When I last
heard about it, there were plans to develop some hardware to implement
the concept.  Does anyone know what's been happening on this front?
