The components in question, the Alpha 440 Power Amp and the Beta 40 Pre-Amp, both got excellent reviews in the June 1983 issue of Sound Canada, and both seem to be reasonably priced. At least in the Toronto area, however, the only dealers that seem to carry Nikko are the type that have no interest in such nicities as post-sales service and maintainance, and this makes me a little nervous (apart from the question as to whether I should be patronising stores like this), even when purchasing non-mechanical components. Has anyone out there had any particularly good or bad experiences with Nikko equipment (the "Professional Series" in particular) and/or Nikko factory service? If there is sufficient response, I will summarise for the net. Thanks very much, in advance.
