Has anyone with a 79 Nova had any problems with the compressor for the air
conditioner, particularly the electromagnetic clutch? A local mechanic thinks
that there was a recall by Chevy because of the many problems that had occurred.
He advised contacting the Consumer Products Agency (or some govt unit with
that name) and inquiring about it. If he does the job, the clutch will cost
$100 and the labor about $20. Any info/advice will be greatly appreciated.
I have been thinking of trying the local auto wreckers for the part and
doing the job myself.
