I have not done it yet, but plan to. It might be illegal to use some of those "closed" strips, but I have not heard of any problems. anyone know more about these particular places, or landing on off-coast islands , in general? P.S. I forgot to mention, that between Corpus Christi and the Mexican border are about 100 miles of park and wildlife refuge with minimum altitude restrictions - don't scare our birds, please. P.S. just checked the Brownsville and Houston sectional. the only non-private airports are Mustang Beach, off Corpus on Mustang island and Galveston. -------
