   Here are some of my favorite summertime authors:

    Wilkie Collins ("The Moonstone", "The Woman in White"),
  
    Isaac Bashevis Singer (especially his short stories), and

    Jorge Amado (anything from "Dona Flor" on). 
      - I'd appreciate others' opinions on him.  I haven't
	been as enthusiastic about an author since I discovered
	Singer.  Do we have another Nobel laureate here?
