Both of them had lived in apartments before they got married, but didn't have a chance to buy themselves a very good selection of spices. For a housewarming present for a person who liked Chinese cooking, I gave a box filled with various Chinese ingredients, such as water chestnuts, hoisin sauce, star anise, soy sauce, etc.
