I think you're a bit mixed up... If a law is passed against something, that reflects a decision that this thing is WRONG. If something is wrong, the fact that you're prepared to face the consequences DOES NOT make it right. I have no ethical obligation to allow you to do something that's wrong. So piss off! If you tailgate me, you better be prepared for a VERY, VERY slow ride... Alan Driscoll BTL, Murray Hill ----- I guess some people are just slow.... You seem to think that laws passed by some legislature are the writ of God. Sorry. 55mph speed limits, like the prohibition, was a big mistake. The minority always has the RIGHT to ignore the majority, PARTICULARLY if one is willing to face the (possible) consequences. Some laws are stupid, and become unenforce- able. This included prohibition, the laws against abortion, prostitution, and the 55mph speed limit. All victimless crimes, anyway. As if they were crimes, except to some idiotic 'moral' majority. 55mph was passed to save gas, not lives, and frankly, I don't think its any of the governments GD business what milage I get in my car providing I'm willing to pay for the gas. Vigil-antes are also illegal. If I tailgate you, and you DON't yeild, be prepared to be a) run off the road or b) facing manslaughter (or worse if I can prove you slowed down intentionally) charges, if I happend to have a pregnant woman with me who births in the car, but the kid is strangled on his umbilical cord since we couldn't make it to the hospital. Your incredibly narrow and rightious viewpoint is extremely dissapointing. I wonder that you consider yourself capable of living with other humans if you are going to continue to be so intolerant of alternate viewpoints to the 'lawful' one. Laws are meant to be a TOOL for justice, not the other way around. Bad laws SHOULD be ignored - in NYS, the highway patrol is known not to stop anyone traveling less than about 65mph (they have publicly admitted this) on the freeways, because there are just too many people typically travelling 60-65. If I am traveling 65 and am ahead of you, I don't interfere with your driving any speed you GD please. If I am traveling 45 and you are going 55, I sure as hell am interfereing with your rights. Moral: Go with the flow, get out of the way if someone wants to pass. It's not your problem, but it might become one if you interfere. Morgoth seismo!rochester!ritcv!ccieng5!ccieng2!bwm
