I have recently seen assorted columnists or letters to the editor
proclaiming that AIDS is God's gift to homosexuals.  Sometimes it
is stated with less delicacy than that.  I am not an expert in 
theology, but it occurred to me that do these same people think
that lung cancer is God's gift to cigarette smokers???  Or was/is
infantile paralysis God's gift to little children???  Is sickle
cell anemia God's gift to blacks???
